Clive Christian, a designer of grand kitchens, bought London's Crown Perfumery Company, founded in 1872, and relaunched it under his own name in 1999, keeping the crown it says Queen Victoria granted. Nichebox, a London group of niche perfume houses, has owned it since 2019.
