Amber Core

Soft, smooth amber-woody, gentler than the super-ambers.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab.
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Easy-to-dose amber-wood backbone; blends with florals, woods and stronger amber molecules.
Rules: Limited. IFRA 51 restricts its use; suppliers cite a 1.3% cap.

Not on the label of any of the 232 perfumes read so far.
