Blood orange oil

Sweet orange with a tart, berry-like, slightly jammy twist.

What it is: Natural oil from cold-pressed peel of red-fleshed oranges.
Where it comes from: Sicily (Italy)
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Brings a juicier, redder fruit tone to citrus tops and fruity-floral openings.
Worth knowing: The red flesh comes from anthocyanins that need cold nights to form, as around Sicily's Mount Etna.
Rules: Limited. Limonene-rich: peroxide (oxidation) specification applies
