What it is: A molecule made in a lab, first made by Givaudan in 2010.
Where it comes from: designed by Givaudan chemists
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: A clean, sulfur-free cassis for fruity tops; reserved for Givaudan perfumers.
Worth knowing: Only its 5S forms smell of cassis; their mirror images smell of Provençal herbs like rosemary.
