Dry, soft sawdust-cedar, faintly ashy and leathery, very subtle.

What it is: Natural material from crystalline alcohol isolated from Virginia and Texas cedarwood oils.
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Adds dry, ashy, sawdust woodiness and fixation to woody, leather and masculine accords.
Worth knowing: Pure cedrol is a white crystalline solid; chemists Stork and Breslow first synthesised it in the 1950s.
Also called: Cedar camphor; (8R)-cedran-8-ol
