Intense hot cinnamon candy, sweet and pungent.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab.
Where it comes from: main component of cinnamon bark and cassia oils
When you smell it: Heart: the first hours.
What perfumers do with it: The cinnamon backbone; used with restraint in spicy orientals and gourmands.
Worth knowing: Isolated from cinnamon oil in 1834 and first synthesised twenty years later, in 1854.
Rules: Limited. IFRA use limits (skin sensitiser); EU label-declared allergen.
