Warm, green-herbal jasmine with celery-like, fruity and slightly spicy tones.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab.
Where it comes from: natural in jasmine, made synthetically for perfumery
When you smell it: Heart: the first hours.
What perfumers do with it: In tiny amounts, makes jasmine, neroli and other floral accords smell natural and alive.
Worth knowing: Nobel laureate Leopold Ružička worked out its structure; it makes up about 3% of jasmine absolute.
Also called: (Z)-3-Methyl-2-(2-pentenyl)-2-cyclopenten-1-one
