Clove bud oil

Sweet, rich clove with a fruity, slightly woody depth.

What it is: Natural oil from dried flower buds of Syzygium aromaticum.
Where it comes from: Madagascar, Indonesia, Zanzibar
When you smell it: Heart: the first hours.
What perfumers do with it: Gives warm clove to carnation, spicy oriental and amber accords; the finest clove grade.
Worth knowing: Clove oil has numbed toothache for centuries; its eugenol is a mild anaesthetic.
Rules: Limited. Limited through its eugenol content (IFRA; EU label-declared allergen).
