Light, fresh orange-peel terpene; faintly citrus, turpentine-like when oxidized.

What it is
Natural material from terpene recovered from orange peel oil during juice processing.
When you smell it
Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it
Cheap citrus lift and diluent in citrus accords; the main body of most citrus oils.
Worth knowing
It is also a powerful degreasing solvent in citrus cleaners, strong enough to dissolve polystyrene.

Limited. Oxidizes to skin sensitizers; peroxide value must stay low
