What it is: Natural oil from steam-distilled flowering herb.
Where it comes from: southern India (Karnataka)
When you smell it: Heart: the first hours.
What perfumers do with it: Adds a rich, liqueur-like fruity-herbal note to fruity chypres, tobacco and ambery accords.
Worth knowing: A close relative of wormwood, yet it smells of boozy dried fruit rather than bitter herbs.
