Powerful galbanum green with pineapple, hyacinth and a metallic-fresh edge.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab, first made by Firmenich in 1973.
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Adds explosive galbanum-green diffusion in traces; modernizes fresh, aromatic and floral accords.
Worth knowing: Firmenich found it as a trace impurity that kept making damascone batches fail quality control.
Known in: Aventus (Creed, 2010)
Rules: Limited. Skin sensitizer; IFRA dose limits by product type
