Soft, fresh, natural muguet with a clean, slightly green petal feel.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab, first made by Firmenich in 1986.
When you smell it: Heart: the first hours.
What perfumers do with it: Everyday floralizer and hydroxycitronellal replacement; builds muguet and lilac without shifting a formula's character.
Worth knowing: Unlike hydroxycitronellal it is neither IFRA-restricted nor a labelled allergen, so perfumers use it from traces to overdoses.
Also called: Florosa; 2-isobutyl-4-methyltetrahydropyran-4-ol; pyranol
