Lemon eucalyptus oil

Fresh, sharp citronella-lemon with a green, slightly rosy, waxy edge.

What it is: Natural oil from steam-distilled leaves.
Where it comes from: China, Brazil, India
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Cheap lemony-green freshness for household and functional products; natural citronellal source.
Worth knowing: PMD, a repellent derived from this oil's citronellal, is one of few plant-based repellents recommended by the US CDC.
Rules: Limited. Mostly citronellal; IFRA citronellal limits cap its dose
