Lime oil, distilled

Sharp, candied, cola-like lime; terpenic, with a sweet pine-lilac note.

What it is: Natural oil from steam-distilled from crushed whole limes or juice pulp.
Where it comes from: Mexico, Peru
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Gives a sweet, fizzy lime-soda effect; not phototoxic, so usable freely in skin products.
Worth knowing: Juice acids rearrange the oil during distillation, creating terpineol and the classic cola-drink lime flavor.
Rules: Limited. Not phototoxic; limonene peroxide specification applies
