Lime oil, expressed

Tart, green, zesty fresh lime peel; juicy, slightly floral and bitter.

What it is: Natural oil from cold-pressed peel of key or Persian limes.
Where it comes from: Mexico, Peru, Brazil
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Adds tangy, green sharpness to citrus tops, cocktail-inspired accords and fresh masculines.
Worth knowing: Squeezing limes in the sun can burn skin: 'margarita dermatitis' is the same phototoxicity that limits this oil.
Rules: Limited. Phototoxic furocoumarins; capped in leave-on skin products
