What it is: Natural absolute from solvent-extracted flowers of linden trees.
Where it comes from: Europe
When you smell it: Heart: the first hours.
What perfumers do with it: Honeyed, sunny transparency for white florals, tea and green-floral accords.
Worth knowing: In Proust's Swann's Way, the famous madeleine is dipped in linden-blossom tea.
Rules: Limited. Farnesol-rich, so counts toward IFRA's farnesol limit
Also called: Tilleul absolute; lime-tree blossom (Tilia)
