What it is: Natural oil from cold-pressed peel of unripe mandarins picked early.
Where it comes from: mainly Italy
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Gives citrus openings a crisp, green bite; lifts colognes and fresh unisex scents.
Worth knowing: Green, yellow and red mandarin oils come from the same fruit, picked at different stages of ripeness.
Rules: Limited. Limonene-rich: peroxide (oxidation) specification applies
