Rich creamy coconut milk, sweet and fatty, with woody-lactonic depth.

What it is: Natural oil from steam-distilled bark of Cryptocarya massoy.
Where it comes from: New Guinea and Indonesia
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Once gave natural creamy coconut and milky effects; now replaced by safer lactone blends.
Rules: Not allowed. IFRA prohibited: oil since 2008, massoia lactone since 2015.
Also called: Massoia oil; main source of massoia lactone
