Dark mossy-leathery powder with violet, earthy and faintly animalic warmth.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab.
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Vintage building block for mossy-leather chypres; today reworked to meet oakmoss limits.
Worth knowing: Created in the 1920s by De Laire, it pre-packaged a whole leather-moss accord for perfumers to drop in.
Also called: Historic moss-leather base
