Mushroom extract (Paris mushroom)

Fresh raw mushroom, mossy undergrowth and damp earth.

What it is: Natural tincture from button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) extracted into MCT oil.
Where it comes from: France
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Gives an immediate mushroomy, undergrowth effect; adds depth to woody and leather formulas.
Worth knowing: Much of a mushroom's smell is 1-octen-3-ol, formed only when its tissue is cut or crushed.
Also called: Agaricus bisporus extract; champignon de Paris
