Creamy, balanced orris: powdery violet, soft butter and earthy root.

What it is: Natural material from aged, steam-distilled rhizomes of Iris germanica.
Where it comes from: Morocco, China, India
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Creamier, slightly less powdery orris for iris hearts, lipstick accords and fixation.
Worth knowing: Its irones are mostly alpha-irone, while Tuscan Iris pallida is richer in gamma-irone.
