Mild, milky, round sandalwood with a soft woody-floral sweetness.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab.
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Rounds and softens sandalwood accords; weaker than Javanol or Bacdanol and flattens if overdosed.
Worth knowing: Unlike most sandalwood synthetics it has no ring at all—a chain-shaped molecule that still reads as sandalwood.
Also called: 7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyloctan-2-ol; sandal octanol
