Sweet, grape-like green-floral, with an orange-blossom, musky-mandarin depth.

What it is: Natural oil from steam-distilled mandarin leaves and twigs.
Where it comes from: mainly Italy
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Natural source of dimethyl anthranilate for mandarin, neroli and grape effects; rounds citrus accords.
Worth knowing: Its signature molecule, dimethyl anthranilate, fluoresces blue under ultraviolet light.
Rules: Limited. Rich in dimethyl anthranilate, which IFRA limits for phototoxicity
