What it is: A molecule made in a lab.
Where it comes from: Givaudan specialty
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Adds sharp rhubarb tang to fruity and citrus accords; performs well in air fresheners.
Also called: 2,4-Dimethyl-4-phenyltetrahydrofuran
