Rose concrete

Waxy, heavy, honeyed rose, softer and fattier than the absolute.

What it is: Natural concrete from waxy first solvent extract of rose petals.
Where it comes from: Bulgaria, Turkey, Morocco
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Intermediate for rose absolute; also used directly in solid perfumes.
Worth knowing: Washing the concrete with alcohol strips its waxes; roughly half to two-thirds survives as absolute.
Rules: Limited. Counts toward citronellol, geraniol and methyl eugenol limits; EU-labeled
Also called: Rosa damascena concrete
