What it is: Natural oil from wood of Aniba rosaeodora.
Where it comes from: Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon

What perfumers do with it: Historic natural linalool source brightening florals, colognes and spicy notes with woody-rosy freshness.
Worth knowing: Wild trees are so scattered—about one per hectare of rainforest—that logging for oil pushed the species toward extinction.
Rules: Limited. CITES Appendix II since 2010, including the essential oil.
