Pungent green-fruity; apple peel and sweet herbs with a rubbery-bitter edge.

What it is: Natural oil from steam-distilled flowering plant.
Where it comes from: South Africa, Egypt, India
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Tiny amounts add a sharp, fruity-green twist to fruity florals, chypres and green accords.
Worth knowing: Alpha-terthienyl, the phototoxic compound behind its restriction, also makes marigolds natural nematode killers.
Rules: Limited. Phototoxic: 0.01% cap in fine fragrance; T. erecta prohibited
