Tarragon oil

Sweet anisic herb with green, hay-like and faintly spicy notes.

What it is: Natural oil from steam-distilled flowering herb.
Where it comes from: mainly France and Hungary
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Adds an anise-green herbal twist to citrus, lavender and fougère accords.
Worth knowing: 'Estragon' and 'dracunculus' both mean 'little dragon', perhaps for its coiling, serpent-like roots.
Rules: Limited. Mostly estragole; IFRA estragole limits cap its dose
