Tea absolute

Dark, tannic, smoky tea; dried fruit, hay, leather and malt.

What it is: Natural absolute from solvent-extracted tea leaves.
Where it comes from: China, India
When you smell it: Dry-down: hours later.
What perfumers do with it: Adds real tea depth to tea accords, chypres, leathers and tobacco-hay compositions.
Worth knowing: Many famous 'tea' perfumes, such as Bulgari's green-tea cologne, build the note as an accord instead.
Rules: Limited. Tea leaf absolute carries its own IFRA dose limit
