Cherry and bitter almond, sweeter and more floral than benzaldehyde.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab.
Where it comes from: synthetic aromatic aldehyde
When you smell it: Top notes: the first minutes.
What perfumers do with it: Gives cherry-pit and cherry-marzipan effects in fruity and gourmand accords.
Rules: Limited. IFRA use limits on tolualdehydes since 2020.
Also called: p-Tolualdehyde; 4-methylbenzaldehyde
