Sweet, fruity-woody with apple-like, faintly floral and orris nuances.

What it is: A molecule made in a lab, first made by IFF in 1948.
When you smell it: Heart: the first hours.
What perfumers do with it: Bridges fruity or floral notes into woods; stable workhorse in soaps, detergents and fougères.
Worth knowing: The cis isomer is the more powerful and floral one, so premium grades are enriched in it.
Also called: p-tert-Butylcyclohexyl acetate (PTBCHA); woody acetate
